Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of jdmmotorschicago.com and every purchase you make from Chicago JDM Auto Parts ("we", "us", "our"). By browsing the website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to the policies they include by reference: our Privacy Policy, Return & Refund Policy, Shipping Policy, Payment Policy, Cancellation Policy, Warranty Policy, Disclaimer, and Legal Notice.

To place an order you must be at least 18 years old, legally able to enter into a binding contract, and buying for a lawful purpose. You agree that the information you give us — including your name, address, and payment details — is accurate and complete. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the website.

Products, Condition & Descriptions

We sell used Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) automotive parts — engines, transmissions, front clips, turbochargers, ECUs and harnesses, suspension, body, and interior parts — imported from Japan and shipped from our Franklin Park, Illinois warehouse. All products are used unless a listing clearly states otherwise.

• Mileage is taken from the documentation supplied with each unit in Japan and converted from kilometers to miles. Where no documentation exists, the listing says so.
• Photos show the actual part or a representative example of its condition. Minor cosmetic differences are normal for used parts.
• We describe every item as accurately as we can. If we discover an error in a listing after you order, we will contact you before shipping.
• You are responsible for confirming that a part is compatible with your vehicle before you buy. See our Disclaimer for fitment guidance.

Orders

Orders & Payment

Orders are placed through Shopify's secure checkout. We accept major credit and debit cards, supported digital wallets, and Affirm financing for eligible customers, as described in our Payment Policy. Payment is captured when your order is placed.

Your order is an offer to buy. We accept it when we ship the item. Every order is screened for fraud, and we may hold, verify, or cancel an order (with a full refund) if payment cannot be verified or the order appears fraudulent. Chargebacks filed in bad faith on delivered, as-described orders will be disputed, and the account may be blocked from future purchases.

Pricing

Pricing, Currency & Sales Tax

• All prices are in US Dollars (USD).
• We may correct pricing errors at any time. If an order is affected, we will contact you before processing it and you may proceed at the correct price or cancel for a full refund.
• Sales tax is calculated at checkout from your shipping address wherever we are required to collect it, including under economic nexus rules that followed South Dakota v. Wayfair, Inc.
• Tax-exempt buyers must provide a valid exemption or resale certificate before ordering.

Shipping

Shipping

We ship to addresses in the United States only. Orders are usually processed within 1–2 business days, and shipping cost is calculated and shown at checkout. Engines and transmissions ship by LTL freight to the curb; moving the item inside is your responsibility. Delivery estimates are given in good faith but are not guaranteed.

If you refuse a shipment without our authorization, or it is returned because of an incorrect address, return freight and re-delivery costs are deducted from any refund. Full details are in our Shipping Policy.

Cancellations

Order Cancellations

You may cancel an order only before it ships. Cancellations within 2 hours of ordering are refunded in full; cancellations 2–24 hours after ordering may incur a 5% processing fee; shipped orders are handled as returns. We may cancel an order for inventory issues, pricing errors, failed payment verification, or suspected fraud, and will refund you in full if we do. See our Cancellation Policy.

Warranty

Limited Warranty & Disclaimer of Warranties

Qualifying products come with the limited warranty described in our Warranty Policy:

The warranty does not cover labor, towing or freight, improper installation, overheating, misuse, modifications, forced induction, timing belt failure, or racing use. Our responsibility under the warranty is limited to replacing the part or refunding its purchase price.

Legal Use

Emissions & State-Specific Compliance

JDM engines and parts were built to Japanese standards and may not meet US federal (EPA) or state emissions requirements for on-road use. By purchasing, you confirm that you have checked and will follow the vehicle modification, emissions, and registration laws that apply to you.

Chicago JDM Auto Parts is not liable for fines, penalties, failed inspections, or registration problems caused by installing or using a part in a way that does not comply with applicable law.

Using the Site

Accounts & Acceptable Use

If you create an account, keep your login details confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account. When using jdmmotorschicago.com you agree not to:

• Scrape, crawl, or copy product data, prices, or images with bots or automated tools without our written permission.
• Place fraudulent orders, use another person's payment details, or misrepresent your identity.
• Interfere with the website's security or operation, or upload malicious code.
• Use the website for any unlawful purpose or in violation of these Terms.

We may suspend or refuse service to anyone who breaks these rules.

Intellectual Property

All original content on jdmmotorschicago.com — text, photos, graphics, logos, and design — belongs to Chicago JDM Auto Parts and is protected by US copyright and trademark law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to view the website for your personal, non-commercial use in shopping with us. Any other use requires our written permission.

Chicago JDM Auto Parts is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or authorized by any vehicle manufacturer, including Honda, Acura, Toyota, Lexus, Nissan, Infiniti, Subaru, Mazda, Mitsubishi, Hyundai, or Kia. Manufacturer names, model names, and engine codes are used only to describe compatibility and remain the property of their owners.

Liability

Limitation of Liability & Indemnification

We are not responsible for damage caused by improper installation, installation by an unqualified person, unsuitable applications, or modifications made after sale. These limits do not apply to liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, to fraud, or to any other liability that cannot be limited by law. Some states do not allow the exclusion of incidental or consequential damages, so some of these limits may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold Chicago JDM Auto Parts harmless from claims, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorney's fees) arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of a product, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Privacy

Privacy & Data Use

We collect personal information such as your name, address, email, phone number, and order details to fulfill orders and communicate with you. Payment card data is handled by our payment processors; we never store full card numbers. We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookie Policy. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, or delete your data and to opt out of targeted advertising — see our Privacy Policy and Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information page. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the link in each email.

Disputes

Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

1. Contact us first

   Most problems are solved quickly by email or phone. Please contact us with your order number and a description of the issue.

2. 30 days of good-faith negotiation

   If a dispute is not resolved right away, both parties agree to negotiate in good faith for at least 30 days before starting any formal legal action.

3. Courts

   These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved by negotiation must be brought exclusively in the state courts of Cook County, Illinois, or the US District Court for the Northern District of Illinois, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Either party may instead bring an individual claim in small claims court if it qualifies.

The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply. Nothing in this section removes rights that the consumer protection laws of your state say cannot be waived.

General

Changes to These Terms & General Provisions

• Changes: we may update these Terms at any time. Changes take effect when posted with a new "Updated" date. Orders already placed are governed by the Terms in effect when you ordered.
• Severability: if any part of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect.
• No waiver: if we do not enforce a provision, we have not waived our right to enforce it later.
• Entire agreement: these Terms and the policies linked above are the complete agreement between you and us about your use of the website and your purchases.
